The Lioness Tale was written after a decade of deep listening to incarcerated women. It was created as a tool to engage them in the process of looking at their life story in a way that opens up new possibilities for insight and growth. It is an allegorical telling of their heart-rending biographies of abuse, neglect and imprisonment. The story joins their yearning for freedom and healing to the universal longing for liberation that is a part of our common human story. It points us all to the essential wholeness that both holds our brokenness and transcends it.
